# justAssist

> justAssist (justassist.dev) is AI code review from JustBox: review a branch, commit or pull request on your own machine with the justbox-code-assist command-line tool, follow hosted pull request reviews, and reach it from AI agents over MCP.

Every capability below carries its availability: Live, Live for operators (working today, started only by JustBox platform operators), Available in the CLI (in a released command-line build), or In development.

## Capabilities

- Review on your own machine (Available in the CLI): Run justbox-code-assist review against a branch, a commit, a pull request or uncommitted work before you push. Your code is read locally; the model calls go through a hosted AI gateway, so it needs a network connection.
- GitHub and Forgejo pull requests (Available in the CLI): Review pull requests on a self-hosted Forgejo forge as well as on GitHub, from the same command-line tool.
- Pick the model for each review (Available in the CLI): Choose the review model per run. If that model cannot run, the review fails and says why; it never switches to another model silently.
- Hosted pull request reviews (Live for operators): Start a hosted review of a pull request with justbox-code-assist kick. The result posts back to the pull request as a check run with the full review. Self-serve hosted reviews for every organization are in development.
- Follow every review in justKick (Live for operators): Each hosted review is a job. Its check run links to the live job in justKick and to the review's own page here, with the reviewer's transcript and output.
- Reviews that do not use GitHub Actions (Live for operators): Hosted reviews run on JustBox-managed machines and enrolled hosts, not on GitHub Actions runners, so a review never waits for, or spends, your Actions minutes.
- Your own review hosts (In development): Register your own machines as review hosts so hosted reviews of your repositories run on hardware you control.
- An MCP Server for your agents (Live): Connect an AI agent to mcp.justassist.dev with your JustBox sign-in or an API token to check health, read your session, list event subscriptions and search memory.
- Memory search (Live): Search your organization's code memory, knowledge and plans from one box. Every result says which scope it actually searched.
- The justAssist GitHub App (Live): Install the GitHub App on your repositories; justAssist checks that you manage the installation before it links it to your account.
- Spending and activity (Live): See model spend and activity by job, model and agent, limited to what your account is allowed to see.
- Command-line builds for every platform (Live): Download the command-line tool for macOS, Linux and Windows from the JustBox Forge package registry; every build is published with its SHA-256 checksum.
